How to Participate in the Program

Participating in Gaz Metro's Fixed Price Program is very simple. You must first select a reliable supplier, and then agree on a fixed price, a start date and the contract duration. Then you must sign (1) a gas supply agreement with the supplier and (2) a Letter of Undertaking that will be sent to Gaz Metro.

The gas supply agreement documents your supplier's obligation to deliver your gas requirements to Gaz Metro on a firm basis pursuant to the terms and conditions established by Gaz Metro. The supply agreement also sets out the fixed price, the start date and the duration of the agreement. See the Sample Agreements for a copy of Integrys Energy's standard Gas Supply Agreement and a copy of Gaz Metro's Letter of Undertaking.

The Letter of Undertaking serves as authorization for Gaz Metro to change the price it invoices you for the gas consumed at your installation to the fixed price set out in the gas supply agreement with your supplier. Under the Letter of Undertaking, you commit to Gaz Metro that you will pay the stated fixed price for all the gas consumed at your installation during the term of your agreement with the supplier.

After Gaz Metro receives the signed Letter of Undertaking from us, it will confirm if you are eligible to participate in the Program. It will then send you a written notice describing the name of the supplier, the fixed price, the start date and the term of the agreement. It will provide you with 15 days to cancel the agreement if for some reason you no longer wish to purchase your gas at a fixed price. After the 15-day period has expired, Gaz Metro will sign a gas supply contract with your supplier.
